Thank you so much for attending the Parent Information Meeting about Exhibition. I am excited to embark on this journey with my first group of fifth graders! They are passionate about so many local and global issues that they had a difficult time choosing just one!
In the next few weeks as we begin our Exhibition journey one of the ways you can support your child is by checking in and asking them questions. Questions about what they are learning and what they find interesting are good , but it is important for us to remember that Exhibition is truly a collaborative effort. Encouraging, modeling and nurturing these important life skills are essential for students to be successful throughout the process. Students will be working closely with their groups over the course of the next 7 weeks.
They will find out their groups early this week.
Social skills play a big role in the process.
Support your child by asking these types of questions:
On a scale of 1 to 5 how would you rate your group's productivity today?
How did you contribute today?
What kind of communicator were you?
How did your group make decisions today? Did you have to compromise?
What did you learn about yourself ?
What is one thing that you can do that will help your group?
What did you learn today and what questions do you have about your topic?
You can find the link to the Power Point that was shown last week at Ms. Bailey's website.

I recently found the trailer for this film. I think it captures the passion, excitement, enthusiasm, and thinking of fifth graders perfectly... It is due out in the U.S. sometime this year. You can order it on Amazon.
