Exhibition is just around the corner. Exhibition is the culmination of the Primary Years Program and an exciting celebration of learning. Students choose a topic they are interested in and using the skills they have developed throughout the years they identify the key concepts, use different approaches to learning and put their learning into action!
We are already beginning to look at possible topics that students are passionate about.
Reminder- Parent Information Exhibition Meeting this Thursday at 5:30. Come and hear about your child's capstone project for the Primary Years Program. Please let me know if you are unable to attend this informative meeting and I will pass along the information.

Check out the pictures from our field trip to the State Capitol last week.
We learned more about our unit by touring the State Capitol last week. We were fortunate to see our central idea in action. As we entered the State Capitol we saw concerned citizens holding signs, singing songs, passing out literature and taking action to change their government. This was a powerful learning opportunity for students! We also toured the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the Governor's Office. Thank you to Representative Ken Ito and Senator Jill Tokuda for taking the time to speak to LJA's fifth graders. Students also toured the historic Aliiolani Hale, the home of Hawaii's Supreme Court and then eagerly participated in a mock trial. Reenacting a trial and taking on the roles of judges, jury members, witnesses, lawyers and more was just one of the highlights of the day! Thank you to Ms. Chong and Ms. Morrison for chaperoning our excursion.
We are Celebrating the 100th Day of School This Week!
